Phillipsville - The Living Chimney Tree

The Living Chimney Tree is located in Phillipsville, just north of the most southern entrance to Avenue of the Giants.  It is free to step inside the tree and photographs are encouraged.  The center of the tree was burned out in 1914, making this unique stop over 100 years old!
How to get there:
Traveling north, take the first Avenue of the Giants exit and it will be on your right.  Traveling South, take the Phillipsville exit and go south a few miles and it will be on your left.

Other things to do in the area:  
Franklin Lane Grove is also in Phillipsville.  Just north, in Myers Flat, take a drive through the Shrine Drive Thru Tree. Over on the coast, the Punta Gorda Recreation Area is a peaceful and beautiful place to visit.
