Trinidad - College Cove

Stagecoach Road
Trinidad, California 95570
Northern Humboldt

College Cove is the northern most beach within the Trinidad State Beach area.  This secluded beach is beautiful and tucked away in a nice cove that shields it from a lot of the wind. From College Cove, you can see Pewetole Island which sometimes displays an impressive blow-hole that can only be seen from this beach.
The various tidepools to be found, the plentiful rock formations just off the coast and its easy access make this a great beach to visit.
There are also some some really chill walking trails above the beach on the bluffs.  You'll see them as you're walking toward the beach access trail.
How to get there:
From Highway 101, Patrick's Point Drive or Scenic Drive; turn onto Main Street into Trinidad and head into town.  Turn right on Stagecoach Road.  There is parking about half a mile up the road on your left.
You can also get there from Trinidad State Beach by following the path that will run from the northside of the of the beach, taking you through trees and up the bluff before dropping into the cove.
More info:
The sunsets from this beach are pretty incredible.  If you like to shoot photos, this beach is a great place to get landscape photos anytime of day.
Other things to do in the area:
Take a walk up Trinidad Head for some spectacular views of the area.  Sue-meg State Park is also close.  Don't miss the Art Galleries and Museums in the area.
