Little River State Beach is often under-used as it sits right in between two more popular beaches making it the perfect place to get away and relax along the ocean.  Due to its prime location, it offers some really amazing views of the surrounding area including the Trinidad Harbor and Trinidad Head.
How to get there:
Little River State Beach is a few miles north of McKinleyville on Highway 101.  Take the Crannell Road exit.
More info:
During certain times of the year, parts of the dunes are blocked off due to the birthing season of migratory birds.  Please respect the boundaries.  Get more information at the Park's Website
Other things to do in the area:
Moonstone Beach, just to the north, is a great family beach and popular surfing spot.  Clam Beach, located directly south of Little River, is a popular family beach and is also the north trailhead for the Hammond Trail.   The world's tallest Totem Pole is just south in McKinleyville.
