NorCalPulse Humboldt

When we published our list of 11 Great Reasons to Shop at Humboldt County Farmers' Markets, we knew there would be the need to post a follow-up because there are just so many reasons to make the trip.   We also wanted to share with you what road trips have to do with Farmers' Markets and where to find the cheapest, healthiest produce.  

There is an average of almost three Farmers' Markets per county in the United States.  Humboldt County has 11!  From the Lost Coast to McKinleyville and everywhere in between, you can find delicious fruits, fresh vegetables, arts, crafts and other locally made products that you'll love.  Updated for the 2023 Season

Our 5th Picnic was especially exciting as we had some special guests join us for this trip.  Eureka Natural Foods, in partnership with NorCalPulse and Kayak Trinidad, ran a contest at each of their locations where a lucky winner and a guest would be treated to a kayak excursion and lunch on the beach.  Writer Jessica Ashley Silva captures all the fun, food and beauty of Trinidad Bay.  

Fortuna's Janell Page of Clean Queen Meal Prep put together quite the picnic for part four of our series at beautiful Rohner Park in Fortuna.  Writer Jessica Ashley Silva takes readers on a tour of the park and through a culinary journey of Page's creations that will inspire you to get your picnic basket ready to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and delicious food. 

The third picnic of our series was especially exciting as it featured the Caribbean Cuisine of local chef, Gaby Long and we were fortunate to enjoy her wonderful creations in the world-famous Avenue of the Giants.  Writer Jessica Ashley Silva takes readers through a little history of the area and breaks down the delicacies that made this such a delicious picnic. 

Summertime in Humboldt County means glorious beach days, afternoons spent at the river soaking up the sun and picnics!  We welcome you to the 2nd part of our picnic series featuring delicious food in the beautiful environment of Cheatham Grove. 

Humboldt County has incredible outdoor recreation opportunities, a thriving arts scene and is an emerging culinary destination.  It also has epic places for a picnic.  Join us for a tour of some of these gorgeous spots starting with the first installment in our series; Tom Creek Meadow at Humboldt Lagoons State Park.  

Humboldt County has a pretty incredible food scene and when it comes to presentation, photography, content and vibe, there are some locals that do an inspiring job of showing it off through the use of Instagram.
