If you're looking for remote camping near the beach, this is the place for you.  There are 14 tent/trailer spots available that have picnic tables, fire rings, potable water and vault toilets but no hook-ups. 
There is a fourteen day stay maximum and each night is $8. 
How to get there:
From Ferndale, take Mattole Road to Petrolia.  After you go through Petrolia, you'll go over Mill Creek and Lighthouse Road will be on your right.  Take Lighthouse Road all the way to until it ends which will be the Trailhead/Camping area.
From Highway 101, take the South Fork/Honeydew exit west to Petrolia.  Lighthouse Road will be on your left before you reach the town of Petrolia.  Take Lighthouse Road until it ends which will be the Trailhead/Camping area.

Take the remote hike to the Punta Gorda LighthouseA.W. Way County Park is pretty close as well.
