Clear Lake State Park sits on the shores of California's largest freshwater lake and offers walking and hiking trails, camping, bike riding, swimming, picnic and bbq areas and a lot more.  
Fishing is also very popular in Clear Lake and many reputable outlets call Clear Lake the nation's best bass fishing lake.
Be sure to stop by the visitor center for some natural and cultural history, an aquarium exhibiting some of the lake's fish species and a gift shop.

Depending on where you start, there are a few ways to get there.  Check out the map for your best route.

There are almost 150 sites in the park which is only open certain months of the year (contact the park for exact dates).  There are also group camp sites and cabins available.   The camp areas are spread out over the park and come with plenty of amenities. 1-800-444-7275

Other things to do in the area:
The Boggs Lake Ecological Reserve is a peaceful park with a short walking trail.  Mt. Konocti County Park has some great hiking trails that lead to some pretty incredible views of the area and a visit to the Tayor Observatory is pretty fun and interesting.
