Created in 1958 by the construction of the Coyote Valley Dam, the lake provides quite a bit of recreational opportunity.  Camping is a favorite activity as well as hiking the miles of trails in the area.  Of course, the two boat ramps are quite popular as well since you can fish in the lake.
There are also plenty of picnic and barbeque areas, playgrounds and an 18-basket disc golf course.  If you want to spend some of your road trip relaxing or playing at the lake, here you go.

How to get there:
There are quite a few ways to get there depending on whether you're coming from Highway 101 or 20.  Check the map for the best way for you.
