The Fields Landing Boat Launch is a great place to drop in for a day on the waters of Humboldt Bay.  Boats, canoes and kayaks are welcome and from this point you can easily reach the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge and Table Bluff.  The area also offers fishing, picnicking and is just a chill spot to relax and read, watch the wildlife or enjoy the water.
How to get there:
Traveling in either direction on Highway 101, take the Fields Landing exit and head west on Railroad Avenue.  The boat launch facility will be at the end of the road.

This is a day-use only park with no fee.  Be sure to check the tide tables prior to launching.
Other things to do in the area:
Just up the road is King Salmon Park which offers interesting views of the South Jetty and Humboldt Bay.  Hookton Slough and the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge are just south.
