Website

Hookton Slough is part of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Area and is a popular fishing (you do need a license), kayaking, bird watching and walking area located just north of Loleta.
It's hard to believe this park is barely over a mile from Highway 101 due to the peace and quiet that can be found there.
How to get there:
From Highway 101, take the Hookton Road Exit west.  Hookton Slough will be on your right, a little over a mile down the road.
More info:
The park is open 7 days a week from sun up to sun down.  There are no fees to use this park.
~Keep Humboldt beautiful, please pack out your trash.
Other things to do in the area:
Hookton Slough is part of the greater Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Area.  The Humboldt Botanical Gardens are close by as is the Eel River Wildlife Area.  If you look west from the park, you will see what looks like a jetty.  It's the jetty at Table Bluff which isn't too far away.
