Take the Shorebird Loop Trail to view some of the hundreds of birds that call this park home throughout the year while exploring the park's wetlands.  Get some sunshine on your face while enjoying the peace and beauty of this amazing park which is also a great place to take the kids. 
How to get there:
From Highway 101 traveling north or south, take the Hookton Road Exit.  If you're traveling south, take the exit right and the park entrance will be immediately on your left.  If you're traveling north, take the exit right and then make a left to come back across the highway.  The park entrance will be on your right.

The Shorebird Loop Trail is an easy 1.75 miles.  There are restrooom facilities here as well as a gift shop and lots of other information.  The interpretive center is open 7 days a week; 8am-5pm.  Click HERE for a map of the park.
Other things to do in the area:
Table Bluff County Park and the Mike Thompson Wildlife Area are just 5 miles away.  You can also visit the Humboldt Botanical Gardens at nearby College of the Redwoods.   Don't miss the other part of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge and visit Hookton Slough.
