Pierson Park is a 6-acre park that offers picnic areas, horseshoe pits, bocce ball courts and open areas for activities.  The park also has a children's playground as well as a tot-lot and comes equipped with restrooms.
Pierson Park is a great place to spend a few hours with the family.
How to get there:
Traveling south on Highway 101, take the Murray Road exit and make a left.  Turn right onto Central Avenue and then left on Pickett Road.  The park will be on your right.
Traveling north on Highway 101, take the School Road exit and make a right.  Turn left onto Central Avenue and then right on Pickett Road.  The park will be on your right.

There is also a gazebo and barbeque area which is on a first come, first-served basis but can be reserved for special events.  Call 707-601-9241 for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
Hiller Park is on the west side of the highway and is a great place to play or go for a walk.  The World's Tallest Totem Pole is also in McKinleyville.  Just north of McKinleyville, play at the beach by visiting Clam Beach County Park or Little River State Beach
