This beautiful park is adjacent to the Arcata Community Forest and has a basketball court, picnic tables, a playground and a few acres of wide open space surrounded by beautiful, towering trees.
The park is perfect for tossing a frisbee, kicking around a ball, flying a kite or just relaxing in the sun.
Parking can be limited; especially on a sunny weekend day, but this park is certainly a great one to visit.
How to get there:
Traveling North on Highway 101: Take the 14th street exit and turn right. The entrance will be 3 blocks straight ahead. Drive to the top of the hill where you'll find the park.
Traveling South on Highway 101: take the Sunset Avenue exit and turn left across the highway. Make a right on L.K. Wood Blvd. and then left on 14th Street. The park entrance will be 2 blocks straight ahead. Drive to the top of the hill where you'll find the park.

Groups may reserve the picnic area by calling 707-822-5951. It is a pretty popular park so make your reservation as far ahead of time as you can.
Other things to do in the area:
While you're there, be sure to take a walk in the Arcata Community Forest or play a game of Disc Golf. Arcata also has some amazing Art Galleries and is near some of Humboldt County's best Beaches.
