Tooby Memorial Park is a small park just outside of Garberville.  It is adjacent to the entrance of Southern Humboldt Community Park and has a fenced playground for kids, shaded and open picnic tables, a grass area for tossing around a frisbee, kicking a soccer ball around or just relaxing. 
The park also offers access to the south fork of the Eel River.
How to get there:
Traveling south on 101, take the Sprowl Creek Road exit and go right.  As you come down the hill on Sprowl Creek Road, the park will be on your right.
Traveling north on 101, take the first Garberville exit.  Take a left onto Sprowl Creek Road at the stop sign in the middle of town. As you come down the hill on Sprowl Creek Road, the park will be on your right.

This is a day use park with no fees although donations are encouraged.
Other things to do in the area:
The Southern Humboldt Community Park is across the street and the Mateel Cooperative Art Gallery  in Garberville showcases the talents of regional artists.
