When you take a road trip to the Redding area, spending a day at Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the coolest adventures you can take while there.
The park is one of the great jewels of Northern California and is home to an incredible array of outdoor and educational opportunities.
Some of the highlights include over 150 miles of hiking and biking trails, camping, birdwatching & wildlife viewing, stargazing, a number of great lakes where you can go boating & fishing and much much more.
A couple of our favorite things to do at the park include the short hike to Bumpass Hell, the largest hydrothermal area in the park, and the hike to Lassen Peak which gives hikers incredible views in every direction.

The park offers astronomy buffs and novices alike the opportunity to view the wonders of space from quite a few points within the park.
Boaters, hikers, campers, bikers and kayakers love the summers here and cross-country skiiers, snowshow fans and those who generally just love the snow enjoy the winters.  No matter the season, Lassen is a fun park to visit.
