The Maidu Museum & Historic Site offers a unique cultural haven for families and individuals who want to experience the life ways and culture of the Nisenan Maidu who called this location home for thousands of years.
The Museum houses interactive exhibits, displays and two art galleries as well as a gift shop.  The museum also hosts a number of special events, movie screenings and other activities.
How to get there:

The Historic Site is just southeast of where Highway 65 meets Highway 80; near Folsom Lake

Other things to do in the area:
The Historic Site is located on the north side of Maidu Regional Park; a really nice Roseville park.  The Sacramento Zoo and the California State Railroad Museum are also a lot of fun and don't miss the Crocker Art Museum or the California Automobile Museum while in the area.
