Furever Home Friday! Adoptable Pets in Northern California (May 3rd)

Bright-Eyes Bright Eyes - currently residing at Tails of Rescue in Redding. 530-448-7444

Looking for a loyal, loving friend?  These animals are all available for adoption and looking for their Furever Homes.  Even if you can't adopt, please share this post so those who are looking can find the right pet and these wonderful animals can find amazing homes.

We do our best to ensure that the pets we feature are all currently up for adoption but sometimes (fortunately!) they find their amazing new homes in between the date we post and the date you see this.    Please contact the shelter directly about availability.

We have showcased one animal from each of the regional shelters but there are many more available.  Click the Animal's Photo to visit the hosting shelter's website.

That cover photo cutie is Bright Eyes who can be adopted at Tails of Rescue in Redding.  Call 530-448-7444 for more information.

 Denver

Hi! I'm Denver! I'm a super sweet, goofy, and happy go lucky dude! I'm looking for my new best friend! I'd like to go to a home that will treat me as one of their own. I love to cuddle and be a couch potato if you'll let me! I promise to be a good boy if you help guide me along the way. I know a few things, but I need a strong leader in my life that will teach me. I could possibly go to a home with teenagers or even another dog if you're willing to feed us separately. All in all I need a seasoned dog owner, come down and meet me today and give me a chance to win over your heart.

Butte Humane Society (Chico):  530-343-7917

 Annie

Annie is the perfect adventure dog, she loves the outdoors! If she isn't outside enjoying the sunshine, she'd love a lap to sit on or even a comfy dog bed. Her favorite trick is asking for belly rubs. After running around the yard doing "zoomies", she will come right up to you showing off her belly! Annie has made leaps and bounds of progress since coming into her foster home. She can still be nervous around new surroundings but once given the time and patience she'll be yours forever!

 Bella

Hi everyone! I'm Bella! I came to the shelter in January after I survived the Camp Fire. Unfortunately, my family had to surrender me because they didn't have anywhere to take me home to. I'm a very talkative and curious cat, but I prefer not to be handled. I will play with toys and chat with you, but I will probably never want to be a lap cat. I think it would be fun to be able to have a house where I can go outside if I want to play and lie in the sun.

Chico Animal Shelter (Chico): 530-894-5630

Oliver

Hello, I'm Oliver. I was left at the shelter when my family moved and decided not to take me too! Needless to say, it's been a traumatic experience. I'm coming out of my shell and learning to trust the people here! I'm learning how to play again and enjoy all the scratches and cuddles I'm getting. I would like a quiet home and with patience I'll be an affectionate companion

Plumas Animal Welfare Society (Quincy):  530-283-5433

 Kora

My name is KORA.  I am a spayed female, red and white Alaskan Husky mix.  The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old.  I have been at the shelter since Mar 27, 2019.

 Bear

Hi! I'm Bear! I am a 3 year old neutered male and looking for my new forever home. I already know how to sit and stay and love to go on car rides, and hang out with the family! I like cats as long as they are nice to me but I need a no chicken home please.

Lake County Animal Care & Control (Lakeport): 707-263-0278

 Colby and Brother

These darling Shih Tzu boys are neutered and up to date on their shots. Colby (6 years old and white) and Brother (5 years old and brown) were loved and coddled when their guardian was alive, which helped mold them into super happy, spunky little guys. Colby weighs 15 pounds and Brother weighs 17 pounds. They get super excited when they see each other. We would like to adopt them out as a couple, as they clearly have a strong emotional bond. They travel well in the car. They LOVE to be on your lap; they like to be held and they like to sit on the arm of the couch. They are so sweet together and have matured just enough to have lost all annoying puppy-type mischievousness. They will make someone somewhere the happiest of pet guardians. They have suffered enough trauma and must go TOGETHER to their FOREVER HOME. Please call the number below

Lassen Humane Society (Susanville):  530-257-9200

 Dozer

Unfortunately, we don't have much information on this sweet boy.  Contact Deb's Claws & Paws for details on Dozer and other pets looking for great home.

 Java

Hello there everyone! My name is Java and I'm a super sweet ball of love! I've been described as very mellow, well behaved, and funny. I don't have a possessive or aggressive bone in my body and love to receive affection from everyone. I get along well with other dogs and I'm currently paired with someone to keep me company. Please stop by High Sierra and ask to see me!

High Sierra Animal Shelter (Porterville):  530-832-4727

 Tweedy

Tweedy's wink will be sure to keep you smiling! He lost his eye some time ago, and has somehow compensated for it by over-eating :-) Please come and meet him in our beautiful outdoor sanctuary soon!

Miranda's Rescue (Fortuna):  707-725-4449

Monet

Hi, my name is Monet!  I'm a 19 pound, female, border collie mix, and I was born around 7/19/2018.  I like being busy, mentally and physically. I'll love to see and do things with my forever family, and I'd really like a busy home life too. An energetic dog like me will need a companion who's able to offer plenty of exercise and mental stimulation every day, like hiking, jogging, or playing fetch. I'd be happiest in a home without children or other animals.

Sequoia Humane Society (Eureka):  707-442-1782

Noah

NOAH is a male, black and white Domestic Shorthair. He is 1 years old. NOAH is a sweet, distinctive boy, roguishly bedazzling in his wispy black and white pelage, and eyes of gold! For such a new member to the shelter, he is a fast favorite among the adoptable kitty staff.

Humboldt County Animal Shelter (McKinleyville):  707-840-9132

 Athena

What a beautiful Cat.  Athena is an older lady with a lot of heart.  She came to us as a stray and she's missing a fang, but she has lots of love left in her.

Humane Society of Del Norte (Crescent City):  707-464-7235

 Stewie

Stewie is a sweet younger adult Pit Bull blend. He was so scared and shy when he came to us as a stray. He has quickly warmed and become a volunteer favorite with his sweet personality, and walking so nicely on a leash. He has been a quiet boy in the kennels, and creates no drama with any of our other dogs. He was super interested in our office cat when we cat-tested him, so may do best in a home with no kitties, or where he will be closely supervised around cats. He's playful, and doesn't really play fetch, but will chase a ball, then play with it like a cat would. He really enjoys affection, and seems to want to be a lap dog!

Dogs of Del Norte County (Crescent City):  707-464-7235

Tank

Tank loves to play catch: he will go and go and go and tire himself out with chuck-it throws. However, you need two balls because he will not release one unless there is another to chase. And leave time to wrangle the balls from him with a treat when it's time to go because he won't release it without another option, and will try very hard to snatch the ball back up in his mouth. Tank doesn't show well in his kennel, but he's lovable as soon as he gets to know you. He is selective with dogs, likes some but not others.

Mendocino Coast Humane Society (Fort Bragg):  707-964-7729
