This 27-acre recreation area sits along Clear Creek and in the vicinity of Saeltzer Dam (now removed).  The park has a day-use area with picnic tables, a short loop trail and access to Clear Creek. 
Horsetown Clear Creek Preserve also connects to the Piety Hill Loop Trail (3.85 miles; loop) and the Clear Creek Greenway Trail (6.25 miles; one-way).  

How to get there:
The Preserve is in the middle of BLM's Clear Creek Greenway on Clear Creek Road, seven miles west of highway 273 and just west of the Clear Creek Bridge.  Check out the map for your best route to get there.

Other things to do in the area:
Anderson River Park is always a great way to spend the day.  If you're heading north from Anderson, hit some golf balls on the river at Aqua Golf Driving Range or take a walk around Clover Creek Preserve in Redding. 
To the south, the Red Bluff Recreation Area is a great place to spend some time along the Sacramento River or visit William B Ide Adobe State Park in Red Bluff for some history of the area.  Our Event Calendar is full of upcoming entertainment and special events happening in the Redding area.
