There are quite a few incredible lakes in the Redding area but Whiskeytown might just be our favorite. Over 35 miles of shoreline surround the lake which offers you the opportunity to go boating, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, swimming and more (personal watercraft like jet skies are prohibited).
This 39,000-acre park is home to a wide variety of land activities as well.  There are over 70 miles of trails, some leading to the four waterfalls you can find within the park, a marina, an ampitheatre, plenty of picnic & barbeque areas, nice beaches and much more.

How to get there:
Whiskeytown Lake is on Highway 299, 10 miles west of Redding and 35 miles east of Weaverville.
Camping info:
There are a few campgrounds at Whiskeytown Lake; standard, group and primitive.  There is also an RV Campground.  Each campground has different amenities so click HERE to get more information to find the right one for you.
More info:

Other things to do in the area:
On your way to the lake, you'll pass through Shasta State Historic Park; a really cool step back in time.  The park also features a Museum worthy of a visit.  Visit our Event Calendar for upcoming events in and around Redding.
