Crystal Creek Falls are the only man-made Falls at Whiskeytown Lake and can be found along the same road as Whiskeytown Falls, making it an especially convenient stop if you're out that way anyway.
Crystal Creek Falls are small but worth a visit as it's a very tranquil area.  The Falls also make up one the four waterfalls of Whiskeytown, which for waterfall seekers, is a bragging right to see them all.
How to get there:
From the Visitor Center, take Highway 299 West to Crystal Creek Road; located just past the Tower House Historic District.  Go left on Crystal Creek Road and the trailhead parking lot is just a short distance up the hill.
More info:
There is a picnic area near the falls and the short hike makes it very easy to pack in some food.
Other things to do in the area:
Before you get to Whiskeytown, from Redding, you pass through Shasta State Historic Park which is a cool place to get up close and personal with the early days of the area.  The Shasta Courthouse Museum also has lots of great information and exhibits.   Our Event Calendar is loaded with upcoming and special events in the area so check it out when you're looking for some local/regional entertainment.
