A moderate out-and-back 3.4 mile trail leads you to Whiskeytown Falls, one of the four beautiful waterfalls at Whiskeytown Lake. The hike to the 220 foot waterfall starts with a decline to the creek valley but then remains at a slight incline the rest of the way.
The stairs to Upper Whiskeytown Falls, to the left of the falls, have been closed due to falling boulders which you will see when you get there.  You can safely go up them, part way, to gain different views of the waterfall but we suggest you don't try to access the trail after the point where the park has blocked it off.
We like this waterfall not only because of its beauty and the peace that find while visiting but also because it's a great hike that almost everyone will enjoy.
