Farm Sanctuary is North America's largest and most effective farm animal rescue and protection organization.
You can visit the Farm Sanctuary and take a self-guided tour around the property. Some of the animals that call the sanctuary home include; pigs, goats, cows, chicken and lambs. It's a very peaceful place to visit and kids seem to have a really good time at the farm.
How to get there:
From I-5 in either direction, in Orland, take Newville Road west and you'll see the Sanctuary on your right, a few miles later.
More info:
The Sanctuary is open daily from 9am-4pm. For more info, visit its Website.
Other things to do in the area:
The Black Butte Lake Recreation Area is nearby and features a Disc Golf Course in addition to its other recreational opportunities. In Corning, visit the Corning Community Park and/or visit some of the local olive companies that offer Olive Oil Tasting.
