Formerly a jail, the Del Norte County Historical Museum has quite a few interesting exhibits, some of which are housed in old jail cells.
Created in 1965, the museum has exhibits featuring artifacts of the local Tolowa and Yurok Native Americans; including one of the finest Native American basket collections in Northern California. Musical instruments, old radio and phonograph equipment, early logging and mining tools and so much more also fill the rooms of the museum.
