If you like to fish or just enjoy the beauty of the Smith River area and the incredible NorCal outdoors, a tour of the Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery is a great place to stop.  The hatchery is responsible for the increase of native Stellhead and Chinook salmon in the Smith River and they welcome you to stop by for a visit. 
Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery is in operation 365 days each year and you'll find fish there each and everyone of them although activity is at its peak during the spawning season.  
Numerous school children visit the hatchery and several of the local schools have developed classroom incubation programs which introduce kids to responsible stewardship of our valuable natural resources.  

How to get there:
The Hatchery is right off of Highway 101 in Smith River.  Check the map for your best route to get there.
