Website

MacKerricher State Park offers a variety of habitats; beaches, bluffs, headlands, dunes, a forest and wetlands. Tidepools run along the shore and seals may be seen on the rocks off the park's coastline.
More than 90 species of birds visit or live near Cleone Lake, a former tidal lagoon located within the park and during the winter and spring, the nearby headlands provide a good lookout for whale watching.
The park is popular with hikers, joggers, equestrians and bicyclists.  Birders and other lovers of wildlife will also have a good time here.
Fishing is encouraged and if you like to scuba dive or snorkel, this is a great place to do so.
At the visitor center, there are exhibits & programs and plenty of picnic areas so bring some food from the local Farmers' Market and a make a day of it.

How to get there:
The park is 3 miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1.  You can't miss it.
More info:
The park has a wheelchair accessible nature trail.  Check out the Park's Website for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
Glass Beach is definitely a cool place to visit as is the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. The area is also rich with Art Galleries and Museums.
