This free museum, at one point, housed coast guard members who had to be ready at a moment's notice.  The building and grounds now see calmer days as a museum and picnic area which also features walking trails and self-guided tours of the old barracks.
From the outdoor museum you can take a trail down to the beautiful Port Orford Heads State Park.

How to get there:
There are a few ways to get there depending on where you start.  Check out the map for your best route.
More info:
Don't forget your camera as the trails lead to some beautiful views, flowers and plant life.
Other things to do in the area:
Check out some local Art Galleries while you're in the area.  A visit to Battle Rock Park and Cape Blanco State Park are great ways to spend an afternoon.
