Shelter Cove - Abalone Point

Lower Pacific Drive
Shelter Cove, California 95589
Southwest Humboldt

Abalone Point in Shelter Cove is a nice stopping point for a picnic, reading or just relaxing.  Enjoy the beautiful coastline from the picnic tables or some of the grass areas as the waves crash on the rocks around you.
When you need some time to just chill and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Ocean, this is one of the great places in Shelter Cove to go.  Sunsets from here are pretty spectacular as well.
How to get there:
As you're coming into Shelter Cove via Shelter Cove Road, take Machi Road to the left.  This will lead you down to the coast.  Drive past Mal Coombs Park which will be on your left and Abalone Point will be on your left in a residential neighborhood not much further.
More info:
While it is a beautiful little park, you are strongly discouraged from getting in the water here.
Other things to do in the area:
While you're there, be sure to visit Black Sands Beach and Mal Coombs Park for beach access or stop by Seal Rock Park for other amazing views of the Pacific.
