Completed in 1945, millions of people come to check out the country's 2nd largest dam every year. The Visitor Center offers breathtaking views of the dam and the majestic mountain scenery surrounding it.
There is also a large grassy area and picnic tables at the dam for your enjoyment.
How to get there:
Lake Blvd and Shasta Dam Blvd will get you to the dam. Check out the map for your best route.

Visitor Center hours are 8am-5pm. Tours happen at 9am & 11am and 1pm & 3pm. Hours can change without notice so be sure to call ahead if you plan on taking the tour. Tour tickets are available at the Visitor Center. Visit the Dam's Website for more information.
Other things to do in the area:
If you're going to drive out to visit the Dam, save some time to play around the Lake. Boating, fishing, camping, hiking, picnics and other activities are very popular there.
