The Redding Area has some fantastic Farmers' Market where you can find delicious, local produce, meats, eggs, cheese, arts & crafts and so much more.  Buy your food directly from the farmer and know that more of your money stays in the local community when you do.

Sundays

Other Fun Activities in the Area:

The McConnell Arboretum is next to the Farmers' Market and is a relaxing place visit while in the area.  A walk or bike ride along the Sacramento River Trail is also a fun way to spend some time enjoying the beauty of the area. 


Tuesdays

Other Fun Activities in the Area: 

Caldwell Park, which sits along the Sacramento River, offers playgrounds, picnic tables and plenty of shade to relax and enjoy an afternoon.  Players at any skill level will enjoy hitting golf balls into the river at Aqua Golf.  


Other Fun Activities in the Area: 

Lassen Volcanic National Park is just a short drive east of Shingletown and offers hiking trails, waterfalls and plenty of places to enjoy a picnic.  There are also a few wineries in the area which offer wine tasting and a relaxing environment.  you can find a list of these places in our Winery Section.   


Wednesdays 

Other Fun Activities in the Area:

No trip to Burney is complete without a visit to McArthur-Burney Falls State Park which is home to one of the prettiest waterfalls in Northern California.  The Hat Creek Radio Observatory is a unique stop as well.

If you're looking for a great hike, we suggest checking out the Tangle Blue Lake Trail (Watch a YouTube Video about this trail HERE)  Lowden Park in Weaverville is a great place chill or play some disc golf at the Lee Fong Disc Golf Course.  As you head out to Weaverville along Highway 299, you'll pass Whiskeytown Lake Recreation Area, an incredible place featuring waterfalls, hiking trails, picnic areas and beautiful beaches where you can relax and play in the water.

We love the Red Bluff Recreation Area and you think you will too.  The Iron Canyon Trail, located just outside of Red Bluff, offers beautiful views of Mt. Shasta, Mt. Lassen and the Sacramento River.  


Thursdays 

Other Fun Things to do in the Area:

Anderson River Park is a great place for a picnic, a nice walk or some disc golf.  Another fun place is the Clear Creek Gorge Area which has trails and places to swim.

The Clover Creek Preserve is just a short distance from the market and offers incredible views of the area as well as a nice walking trail.   Manzanita Lake at Lassen Volcanic National Park is pretty amazing place for a picnic and the recreational opportunities within the park seem almost limitless.

Hedge Creek Falls is located on the north side of town and is pretty amazing.  Dunsmuir City Park is a great place to relax and if you want to enjoy one of Northern California's true geographic wonders, take the short drive to Castle Crags State Park.  


Saturdays
