The Mendocino County Museum collects, conserves and celebrates the stories, artifacts, archives and lives of the people and places of Mendocino County.  They have both permanent & rotating exhibits, special shows and more.  
This museum came highly recommended by other museums we visited and the good things we heard were accurate. 
How to get there:
From Highway 101 in either direction, take Commercial Avenue east and the museum will be on your left a few blocks down the street.

The museum is open Wednesday-Sunday; 10am-4:30pm.  The first Wednesday of the month is FREE!  Check out its Website for more information. 
Other things to do in the area:
The Willits Skate Park is just down the street.  The Community Theatre and Center for the Arts are worth a visit and you can find fresh produce at the Willits Farmers' Market all year round.
