Bastendorff Beach is a wonderful park to spend an afternoon doing some whale watching, relaxing & enjoying the sunshine or just goofing off near the water.  The beach is large and inviting and is a great place to throw out a blanket and have a picnic.
This beach park also features a basketball court, playground and large lawns ideal for softball, volleyball, tossing around a frisbee or flying kites. 

How to get there:
There are a few ways to get there depending on your starting point.  Take a look at the map for your best route.

This year-round campground offers tent and rv sites as well as cabins.  Groups are welcome too.

Dogs are permitted on a leash. You can rent either of the picnic areas that have gazebo type shelters and are pretty well equipped by calling the park directly.  Check the Beach's Website for more information. 
Other things to do in the area:
The Coos Art Museum, Shore Acres State Park, Sunset Bay State Park and Empire Lakes are just a few of the other cool places to visit while you're in the area.
