The Fisherman is a unique statue located at Woodley Island Marina.  It was dedicated in 1981 to the Fishermen who have lost their lives while at sea. The statue provides the opportunity to reflect on the great history of the fishing industry in Humboldt County.
How to get there:
From Eureka, take R Street west toward Samoa.   Take the Woodley Island Marina exit and the statue will be found within the Marina.
From Arcata, take Highway 255 toward Samoa.  At the light, make a left toward Eureka.  Take the Woodley Island Marina exit and the statue will be found within the Marina.

Parking is free at the Marina.  There is also a kayak launch area.
Other things to do in the area:
Take a walk around Woodley Island Marina and be sure to check out the Table Bluff Lighthouse while you're there.  The Samoa Dunes Recreation Area has plenty to offer and is very near to the Samoa Cookhouse Historic Logging Museum.
