Mt. Shasta City Park is one of two really nice city parks in Mt. Shasta; Shastice Park being the other.  The park features a couple of playgrounds, plenty of picnic tables, a walking trail, lots of grass area to throw or kick a ball, toss a frisbee or just relax.
This 26-acre park is also home to the Sacramento River Headwaters; a unique attraction worth a visit.

How to get there:

If you're traveling north on I-5; take the West Lake Street exit and make a right.  Take a left on N Mt. Shasta Blvd and the park will be on your left, one mile later.
If you're traveling south on I-5; take the N Mt Shasta Blvd exit and follow it left.  The park will be on your right just a short distance later.
More info:
It's a short walk from the parking lot to the Headwaters viewing area.  Visit the park's website for information.
Other things to do in the area:
Shastice Park is just across town and is home to the Mt. Shasta Skatepark, the Mt. Shasta Bike Park and the Siskiyou Ice Rink.  The Sisson Museum is one of the best museums in the area and is also home to the Mt.
