Dyerville Bar allows access to the Eel River while the overlook has picnic tables, plenty of parking and open grass areas.   With some beautiful views of the river and the surrounding mountains, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. 
How to get there:
Dyerville Bar and Overlook is located about 11 miles south of the north Avenue of the Giants entrance.  Traveling on Highway 101 in either direction and take the Honeydew exit.  The park is located on the the east side of the highway.
More info:
Access to the river is just a few feet north of the overlook.  It's a narrow entryway and can be easy to miss on your first pass by.
Other things to do in the area:
Across the river south is Founder's Grove; a popular stop with peaceful trails.  The Big Trees Area is nearby and pretty incredible.  Take a look at our Humboldt Redwoods State Park section for more info about the area.
