Humboldt Redwoods State Park is home to Avenue of the Giants and the Big Trees Area; a spectacular grove with some of the biggest coastal redwoods in the world.   The park also offers plenty of camping, miles and miles of hiking and nature walk trails, swimming holes, wildlife viewing and so much more.   Fishing and boating are also typical activities within the park as are other family-friendly activities.
How to get there:
The park is huge (over 53,000 acres!).  Check out the map to find the place in the park you're looking for.
Camping info:
There are over 250 camping spots in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.  Albee Creek is the most popular campground but the Cuneo Creek Horse Camp is specifically for people with horses and there are also dispersed camp spots off of some of the trails.
