The parking areas, which are a few hundred feet above sea level, are a fantastic place to pull over and check out the views. 
If you want to take a walk along the beach, there is a mile and a half trail that leads to the cape and it's a peaceful, beautiful stroll.  You can see for miles and miles up and down the coast from the beach.
At the right times of year, Gray Whales can often be spotted from the park.

Cape Sebastian State Park is located about 6 miles south of Gold Beach on Highway 101.

Other things to do in the area:
While in town, don't miss the Curry County Historical Museum and Jerry's Rogue River Museum.  If you're heading south, Pistol River State Park is a fantastic park where the Pistol River meets the ocean.  If you're traveling north, a stop by Cape Blanco State Park is a great place to spend an afternoon.
