Located where the Pistol River meets the Pacific Ocean, the park offers a couple of diverse enviornments in which to play.  There are sweeping sand dunes, plenty of beach areas to throw out a blanket and relax and incredible views of the coastline to be found here. 
This beach also has some of the best windsurfing on the Oregon Coast.  So good in fact, many windsurfing competitions are held here. 
The park is also an excellent birding spot and a popular fishing spot.  Horses are welcome as well.

How to get there:
Pistol River State Park is located right along Highway 101; 23 miles north of Brookings.

Other things to do in the area:
Jerry's Rogue River Museum & the Curry County Historical Museum are also in Gold Beach and Cape Sebastian State Park is just to the north and has quite a bit to offer.
