This free museum stores a vast selection of artifacts, photos and other unique items that detail the history of the area, its people and the geological formation of the region.  
Located along the Rogue River, very near where it meets the ocean, the museum is a great place to stop while on your Southern Oregon Coast road trip. 

How to get there:
The museum is located right off of Highway 101 on the south side of the Rogue River.

Other things to do in the area:
Spend the day at Cape Sebastian State Park and don't miss the Curry County Historical Museum while you're in the area.  The beautiful Nesika Beach is just to the north of Gold Beach and Pistol River State Park is just to the south.
