The Coos History Museum is a welcoming community gathering place and a valued regional resource.  The museum creates a better understanding of life in Coos County and Oregon's South Coast; past and present.  Check out their collection of over 50,000 objects and over a quarter of a million images from the area's distant and more recent past. 
If you plan on spending some time in Coos Bay as part of your road trip, a stop by the musuem is a pretty interesting one.

How to get there:
The museum is 4 miles south of the McCullough Bridge, right off Highway 101 (Pacific Coast Scenic Byway). Take a look at the map for your best way to get there.

Stop by the Coos Art Museum while you're in the area.  John Topits Park might be the best city park in the area and if you're looking to enjoy the beauty of the coast in Coos Bay, visit Shore Acres State Park, Bastendorf Beach Park and Sunset Bay State Park.
