The Slough is almost 6,000 beautiful acres of preserved habitat for you to enjoy.  Within the park, you'll find freshwater wetlands, tidal wetlands, open channels of water, forested uplands and so much more.  
The park also has a great trail system that leads through the different areas of the park.
The wildlife you can find here is diverse and abundant.  It's a peaceful place and a must-visit for nature and wildlife lovers.

Other things to do in the area:
Shore Acres State Park and Sunset Bay State Park are both nearby.  When in town, be sure to stop by the Coos Historical & Maritime Museum, Coos Art Museum and John Topits Park which has great fishing and miles of walking trails.
