The Point Arena Lighthouse is set in one of the most spectacular and peaceful surroundings on the Northern California Coast.  The Point Arena tower is the only Pacific West Coast Lighthouse of significant height (115 feet) that you can climb to the top!  Access to the lantern room provides a panoramic view of the rugged California coast and of the ocean.
The Lighthouse is situated on the closest point of land to the Hawaiian Islands in the Continental United States.
There is also a museum on the property that features artifacts and displays as well as vidoes about marine life in the area, lumber history and that of the Pomo Indians.

How to get there:
From Highway 1, south of Manchester, take the Lighthouse Road exit and it will lead you to the Lighthouse.
More info:
Tours of the lighthouse and museum is $7.50 for adults, $1 for children 5-12 and free to lighthouse members. For more information about visiting the Lighthouse, visit its Website
Other things to do in the area:
Moat Creek Beach is a cool beach where you can play in the water or take it all in from the bluffs above.  To the north, check out Greenwood State Beach in Elk.  South, don't miss Gualala Point Regional Park.
